Hon Dr\nAnxious Jongwe Masuka has a BSc Agric (Hons), and a Doctor of Philosophy\n(D PHIL) obtained from the University of Zimbabwe.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Hon Dr\nMasuka has extensive agricultural experience, spanning more than 32 years,\nbacked by a strong science background, having been a researcher at the\nForestry Commission, a lecturer at the University of Zimbabwe and an\nagricultural researcher at the Tobacco Research Board.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Hon Dr\nMasuka is a prolific science writer with over 130 science publications and\nhas authored, co-authored and edited over 29 books and handbooks on\nforestry, agriculture, and policy and strategy. Agriculture books are on\ncotton, potato, goat, sugar, livestock, traditional grains, and maize\nproduction, in addition to books on climate smart agriculture, green\neconomy, import substitution and financing agriculture. He\nrecently co-authored a book on Larger Fungi of Africa South of the Sahara.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Hon Dr\nMasuka was a Founding Fellow of the Zimbabwe Academy of Sciences in 2004.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Hon Dr\nMasuka became the first black General Manager of the Tobacco Research\nBoard in 2001, where he stayed till 2012. Hon Dr Masuka joined the\nZimbabwe Agricultural Society in 2015 after a two-year stint as Executive\nDirector and Chief Operating Officer at Ariston Holdings.Hon Dr Masuka has\nbeen a member of more than 30 Boards and Associations, among them being\nChairman \u2013 University of Zimbabwe; Chairman \u2013 Nuanetsi Ranch and\nDevelopment of Zimbabwe Subsidiaries; Chairman \u2013 Buy Zimbabwe, Chairman \u2013\nArtAgro Sothern Africa, Chairman \u2013 ZIMBRANDS; Chairman \u2013 Zimbabwe Sunshine\nGroup; Chairman \u2013 Zimbabwe Potato Micro-propagation Association; and\nChairman of Board of Advisors \u2013 Federation of Young Farmers Clubs\nZimbabwe, and was on the Boards of Ariston Holdings, SOS Children\u2019s\nVillages, Manicaland State University, Farmers Development Trust and Cold\nStorage Company, among others.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

The\nHonourable Doctor has been Chairman \u2013 Africa Mycological Association and\nVice President – World Mycological Association.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Hon Dr\nMasuka has won several management awards and in 2015 was selected by the\nMarketers Association of Zimbabwe as one of the 50 most influential\nZimbabweans (non-politicians). Hon Dr Masuka was voted CEO of the Year,\nEmpowerer of the Year, Service Champion of the Year, and Outstanding\nBusinessman of the Year, Innovation and Excellence of the Year, among many\nannual awards in his career.  <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

Hon Dr\nMasuka is an ardent student of strategy, and a known transformative and\npractical agri-business leader in Zimbabwe. He is also a successful farmer\nand an entrepreneur.<\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n

 The\nabove success stories have seen Hon Dr Masuka being appointed the Minister\nof Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development. <\/span><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>\n\n
