The department has a Head office at Kaguvi Building (Harare) and has offices in the eight provinces of Zimbabwe. The Director is responsible for running the department, and is assisted by four deputy directors (1 x Deputy Director-Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, 1 x Head of Centre– Research, Training and Technology Development, 1 x Deputy Director– Operations and 1 x Deputy Director – Construction). The Deputy Director-Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation is assisted by 4 engineers. The Head of Centre-Research, Training and Technology Development is assisted by six engineers (4 – Training, Research, Testing and Technology Development), one responsible for Plant and Equipment and one responsible for Fels Demonstration Centre. The Deputy Director Operation is assisted by four Engineers and also coordinates provincial activities. The Deputy Director Construction is assisted by three engineers and also works with Provincial teams .Provincial offices are managed by Provincial Irrigation Engineers. The Department of Irrigation has a staff compliment comprising of Engineers, Technicians, Artisans, Corporate services (Administration, Human Resources and Accounts) and Technical hands.
